Lumaspect Inspect™
AI optical inspection for assembled circuit boards, designed for small batches and frequent changeovers.
Discover Inspect™ →Lumaspect develops AI optical inspection systems built on off-the-shelf hardware. Our first product, Lumaspect Inspect™, checks assembled circuit boards. The same platform lets us take on other kinds of inspection with our customers, as a product or as a custom project.
We work with small, medium and large companies. Sometimes a product is enough, sometimes the solution has to be built around the problem.

Discover Inspect™ →We help you understand what a camera can check, with which approach and within which limits, even if the solution in the end is not ours.
How we work →When a ready-made product is not enough, we build the inspection bench around your part, starting from our platform.
Let’s talk →Dedicated machines are expensive and hard to justify with small batches and many variants.
Every new product needs programming time; with many part numbers it becomes a job of its own.
Where automation does not pay off, parts are checked by eye, with results that depend on the person and the day.
Thresholds that are too strict flag far more than needed, and operators end up not trusting the system.
Fast acquisition stays on the bench; the models run on dedicated servers. The operator steps in only when needed.
An off-the-shelf optical head on an open-source frame captures the board’s fields under controlled light.
Every image is realigned to the golden board or the CAD data.
The visual model checks presence, position and polarity of components and measures anomalies.
The System One decision model answers with calibrated probabilities: real defect, verdict, severity.
Below threshold the operator decides; every verdict is traced and feeds the metrics.
“Can we inspect our boards automatically in small batches, without an AOI machine costing hundreds of thousands?”
A trial on your boards: good and defective samples, a few defects chosen together, metrics measured and compared with your current inspection.
Acquisition, visual model, decision model and console do not depend on the kind of part. These are the areas where we build prototypes with customers.
Presence of features, burrs, scratches, visible dimensions on turned and milled parts.
Inspection of components and packaging with the traceability industry standards require.
Beads, brazes and bonds checked with structured light and comparison with the reference.
Presence, position and readability of labels, lot numbers and codes.
Cosmetic defects on metals, plastics and paints, where the threshold is subjective and a deciding model helps.
Screws, connectors, harnesses: everything that must be there, in the right place, the right way round.
We are a product company that also does consulting. We help small, medium and large companies understand whether and how to automate visual inspection, and we see the solution through to production.
Understand together what needs checking, why, and what happens today when a defect gets through.
02 / ANALISI E VISIONE D'INSIEMEFind out whether the defects you care about are actually visible, and which approach makes sense.
03 / PROPOSTA E PROTOTIPOSee a concrete solution working on your parts before deciding whether to invest.
04 / PILOTATry the solution on your line, with your operators, before rolling it out.
05 / MESSA IN PRODUZIONEMove from pilot to a system that works every day and is compliant.
06 / MANTENIMENTOKeep the system working when products, suppliers and batches change.
A machine with AI has to be put into service in compliance. We take that into account from day one, not at the end.

in forceLumaspect was founded by Luca Marrocco. I have been developing software for more than twenty years and using Linux since 1996; I have worked on backend and frontend systems for banks, fintech, blockchain and pharma.
AI changes the tools, but the rules of a system that works every day stay the same: reliable data, clear interfaces, tests, security and maintenance. Lumaspect exists to bring that way of working to visual inspection.
We work on site with Swiss and Italian companies that sell worldwide. France, Germany, India and China are the next step.
Tell us what you make and which defects worry you. We will tell you honestly whether and how we can help.
